KAMAWANU Co., Ltd (“KAMAWANU”) recognizes the importance of protecting customers’ personal information, has established this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”), will disseminate it to all of our employees, and will strictly comply with it. KAMAWANU will also comply with the Personal Information Protection Act (the “PIPA”) and other applicable laws, regulations and guidelines in order to protect customers’ personal information reliably.

1. Purposes of KAMAWANU’s Privacy Policy

The purpose of KAMAWANU’s Privacy Policy is to ensure secure protection of customers’ personal information and to provide continuous assurance to customers.

2. Management of personal information

With respect to the management of personal information to be provided by customers, KAMAWANU will establish a control system for protecting the information in accordance with the actual conditions of our business and will handle such information appropriately and carefully in accordance with our internal rules.

(1) Collection of personal information
When you use KAMAWANU’s services, KAMAWANU may collect your personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.
In connection with payments to KAMAWANU, KAMAWANU will acquire payment information made between you and a credit card company from the credit card company. The card number entered in connection with the payment to KAMAWANU will be collected and managed by the credit card company to which we entrust the payment, and KAMAWANU will not retain the card number at our side.
Please be assured that customers’ personal information will be sent to KAMAWANU by SSL encryption communication.

(2) Purpose of Use of customers’ personal information
KAMAWANU will use customers’ personal information that we acquired to the extent necessary for achieving the following purposes. KAMAWANU will not use the personal information for any purpose other than listed below.
(i) Providing product information;
(ii) Managing events, such as TENUGUI Design Contest and Work Shops;
(iii) Performances, such as processing orders, keeping goods, processing sales, conducting repairs, delivering goods at a later date, delivering, and after-sales services;
(iv) Future product planning and development.

(3) Provision of personal information to third parties
KAMAWANU will not provide, other than when required by laws and regulations, any personal information to any third party except to our service provider, without the customer’s prior consent.
In the winning announcement at the events such as TENUGUI Design Contest, the winner’s name and address (prefecture name only) will be published with customer’s prior consent.

3. Safety Measures

To ensure the accuracy and security of personal information, KAMAWANU will implement safety measures, including information security measures, to ensure that personal information will not be accessed, lost, destroyed, altered, or divulged.
In addition, when improvements are required as a result of internal audits and based on examples of security accidents and requests from customers, we will promptly correct such safety measures.

4. Inquiries regarding disclosure, correction, suspension of use, etc. of personal information

If KAMAWANU is requested from a customer to disclose, amend, add, delete or suspend the use of or cancel, or stop providing to any third party or give notice concerning the purpose of use of, his/her personal information held by KAMAWANU pursuant to the PIPA, KAMAWANU shall confirm that such person who made such request is the person of the relevant personal information and respond to such request properly in accordance with the PIPA.

5. Changes to the Privacy Policy

KAMAWANU continuously maintains and improves its compliance system by conducting internal audits and by the business representative reviewing its compliance system, and strives to maintain the best condition of this Privacy Policy on a constant basis.
Therefore, KAMAWANU may modify this Privacy Policy as necessary. Any such modification will be posted on this website.

Precautions regarding our products

・Since our products (TENUGUI and related goods thereof) are hand-dyed cloths, no two are the same color.
・Because they are hand-dyed products, the color may fade with use or wash. Please do not leave in water or hot water, and please wash separately from other items.
 In addition, since use of bleaching agent may cause deterioration of the cloth, please avoid using such agent.
・Due to the nature of the products, the edges of the cloth are cut off with no seam. Please understand that such edges are not defective.
・All of our products are manufactured under the standards of Japan.
